Application Procedure for Petrolatum FLANGE PAIR & GATE VALVE
Step 1 - Paste and Primer
A preparatory priming paste used to displace surface moisture, passivate surface oxides
and fill small irregularities in surfaces that will be wrapped with PT Petrolatum Tape.
Step 2 - Mastic
A saturated petroleum based compound of fillers and reinforcing fibers, which profiles areas to be tape wrapped by easing contours and filling voids on pipe joints, flanges, bolts and other irregular shapes.
Step 3 - Petrolatum Tape
A non-woven stitch bonded synthetic fabric, fully impregnated and coated with Petrolatum based compounds and fillers. Petrolatum Tape is chemically resistant and does not polymerize or oxidize.
